Christmas

Ya know, I had a thought this morning. (actually it's sorta lifted from a caller on a local talk radio show) I think that Christmas should only be celebrated in "Jesusland" and the "United States of Canada" should abolish all religious holidays, artifacts, establishments, etc. Put your money where your mouth is, you f'n lefties.

Bein' an f'n leftie myself let me just say this...we believe in inclusion of all religions and also allowing the lack of religion and we brlieve in seperation of church and state. I am a Christian (Epsicopalian) and I am okay with my neighbors who are muslim and my other neighbors who are aethists living anyway they want because it in no way infringes on my practice of my religion. I've always learned that tolerance and kindness are the most Christian of values. You don't seem to be displaying them.

My apologies for the very late response. I didn't realize anyone had found our little corner here.

You are implying that I do not have tolerance for other religions/philosophies. Couldn't be farther from the truth. While I do not affiliate myself with a specific denomination of Christianity, I am a Christian for the most part. Part of my family is deeply religious and part is not. Part is Jewish. My beliefs are an amalgamation of many different religions and philosophies from both East, West, and science. Me beleiving what I believe imposes nothing on my neighbor, regardless of their choice of faith.

My post was directed at the anti-religious left that, immediately after the election, claimed that the President won re-election based purely on religious fervor. That he was the right person for the job was never issued as an explanation. Nor was that the Democratic party never publicized "the Plan" that was so frequently touted. If you were offended then you place yourself in the group to which the post was directed. If you are not in that group, it wasn't meant for you.

And, by the way, there is no such thing as separation of church and state. Just a Constitutional prohibition on government-sanctioned religion or "prohibiting the free exercise thereof." That the first amendment has been contorted into "there shall be no religion in government whatsoever" is an illusion the left has continued to portray for years.
